I read Philosophy, Psychology and Education at Athens University and also hold a Diploma in English Literature, a Diploma in Translation, the UCLES/RSA Diploma (with Distinction) and a University of Edinburgh Certificate of Advanced Studies in ELT. I have taught General English, Translation and ESP to adults and children since 1985 and trained EFL teachers since 1990 on a variety of courses ranging from Introductory level to Cambridge/RSA Diploma. I was Director of the UCLES/RSA DOTE Course at CELT Athens from 1992 until 1999, when I left to concentrate on materials writing.

My involvement with Macmillan ELT started in 1994, when I was asked to do a number of teacher training seminars and workshops sponsored by them. Since then, I have worked with Macmillan both as a teacher trainer and as an author: I have written eight supplementary books intended to accompany the Apple Pie, Smile and Shine series in the Greek market, as well as the teacher's book and test booklet for Rising Star and test booklets for the Shine series.

I have just finished writing Action, a three-level secondary course for Greece, published by Macmillan Hellas in 2003.

I am currently working as a freelance translator, ESP teacher and teacher trainer in Athens, Greece.

Away from ELT, I like spending time with my two cats, Rigoletto and Floretta, cooking and entertaining friends, going to the theatre and opera, and writing.
