Paul
Emmerson
Paul Emmerson
was born and brought up in London, then went to University
in the north of England. He lived in Manchester for many years,
working as a teacher in community education. His job involved
the design, management and implementation of IT training.
In his
mid thirties he decided to change his life completely and
moved to Portugal. He lived in Lisbon for six years, working
as a freelance Business English trainer. He came back to the
UK in 1996 and since then has worked as a writer, teacher
and teacher trainer in the field of Business English. He has
a strong connection with International House, London, where
he teaches every summer, runs the LCCI Cert TEB training course
overseas, and does quality control inspections of international
affiliates.
He has
recently completed an MA in Applied Linguistics, and has a
continuing interest in the academic fields of Task-Based Learning
and Intercultural Awareness. He gives regular presentations
at ELT conferences all over the world on teaching methodology
for Business English.
His publications
include Business Builder, Business Grammar Builder and Email
English (Macmillan) and Business English Frameworks and Five
Minute Business English Activities (CUP).
