Macmillan Education works with English Language Teaching (ELT) communities around the world to create teaching materials and teacher-training support for varying curriculum and classroom needs.
Our international ELT list caters for every age and level from pre-primary through to adult learners. Our award-winning range of dictionaries is the flagship area of our reference publishing; the Macmillan Readers provide a vibrant range of graded literature texts; our unique English for Specific Purposes reveals our responsiveness to industry trends and needs; our exams publishing prepares students for all international and school exams; our business courses offer professionals a vast range of language and 'soft' business skills.
As an international publisher for both British and American English, we publish our key courses in both language variations.

Regional focus in ELT
The strength of having offices and publishing centres all over the world is the bespoke regional publishing that we can produce. It’s important to understand the specialities of local curricula and school leaving exams, and to make sure teachers know that when they pick up a Macmillan title, it is something they can trust. Our regional publishing for Latin America, Spain, Poland, the Middle East, East Asia and China does exactly that, with teams of publishers and editors on the ground, ready to listen to teachers' comments and feed that in to the materials they produce. The regional publishing units have an exhaustive publishing plan for the whole school cycle from 2-18 years old, supported by digital components and expert teacher training.
Online resources in ELT
Macmillan has developed one of the largest online communities for English language teachers, onestopenglish.com. This site includes a virtual staffroom for teachers to share ideas and lesson plans. It has built up a strong reputation and is unique in the service it provides. The latest addition to the onestop family is onestopclil.com, specifically aimed at subject teachers teaching in English, as well as English teachers teaching curriculum subjects.
Many of our courses are supported by online resources to help teachers use and adapt the books as easily as possible to their teaching situation. Most of these are free for teachers, and range from warm-up activities for a Monday morning to PowerPoint presentations, all characterised by having been written by teachers for teachers.
